Day1:
You arrive in Ahvaz International Airport early morning. Out guide warmly welcomes you and pick you up. In en route, we visit the Haft-Tappeh museum which narrates the story of prehistoric life and the Elemite period. Then we move to ancient city of Susa to visit Apadan Palace, Elemite City, Frech Castile, and Susa museum. The guide gives you information about the history of Susa from the past till now. It is a good time to visit the shrine of Jewish prophet, Danial.
After lunch we go to Tchoghazanbil as a big Ziggurat in Dur-Untash City. This is a holy Ziggurat belonging to Inshushinak and Napirishia Gods as The most respected gods in the Elemite period. The ziggurat was built by UntashGal as the king of mid-elemite. T hen, we move to Shushtar and check in Tabib Traditional Hotel. Overnight in Shushtar.
Day 2:
It is a big day to visit ancient hydraulic system in Shushtar which has 13 Parts. After breakfast we go to Band-E-Mizan to find out how the water of the Karun River divides in the ratio of 2 to 4. The Karun River is divided into 2 parts by Band-e-mizan and makes 2 rivers: Shoteit and Gargar. The Gargar is a hand-made river which drives water to Gargar dam and connect to the watermills. On the other hand, Shoteil River gets to the Shodorvan Bridge. The bridge was constructed by Baranush as a Roman architect. Then, we go to watermills as the most well-known part of hydraulic system. 46 water mills were working in ancient time. After that we go to Moghadam traditional house for a short rest. Then, we go to salaasel Castle and Dariun channel. For lunch, we go to Mostofi Traditional House to experience local food at a traditional house. It is the best chance to boat on the Shoteit River to visit glamorous nature of Tang-E-Aghili.
Afzal Carvansarai (UNESCO Site) is the biggest handicrafts Cerner in Khuzestan. In addition Tarmeh Café-museum is a place to see household tools that people of Shushtar used them in their life in the past. Ehrami is the most famous handicraft of Shushtar which you can experience how to make them in Ehrami workshop. Bazaar is other part of our plan in Shushtar where local delicacies such as kuleche and Ardeh are available. Overnight in Shushtar.
